- A cup of cherry tomatoes (149 g) has about 27 calories, and a large tomato (182 g) about 33.
- Tomatoes are mostly water, which is why they add volume to salads and sauces for few calories: 3.9 g of carbohydrate per 100 g, of which 2.6 g are sugars.
- Tomato paste is concentrated: a tablespoon (16 g) has about 13 calories, about the same as 4 cherry tomatoes.
