Good to know
- The juice of a lemon (48 g) has about 11 calories, so a squeeze over a dish adds almost nothing.
- Bottled lemon juice from concentrate has 17 calories per 100 g and fresh lime juice 25, so they can stand in for fresh lemon without changing the count.
- Lemonade is a different product: its calories come mostly from added sugar. Each teaspoon of sugar (4.2 g) stirred in adds 16 calories.
