Good to know
- Size is the biggest variable. USDA lists an extra-small banana at 81 g (72 calories) and an extra-large one at 152 g (135 calories).
- USDA values are per 100 g of edible fruit, so weigh a banana after peeling it if you use a scale.
- Almost all of a banana’s energy comes from carbohydrate: 22.8 g per 100 g, including 12.2 g of sugars and 2.6 g of fiber.
